Oh my! I must've laughed out loud a dozen times in this! "...just in case there was ever a scientific breakthrough in the treatment of turmeric stains" Ha! I have somewhat the same issues but for men's -- which is such a lower bar-- I buy clothes evidently that that are "aspirational" -- like the blue leather biker jacket I got in Florence (never worn) -- but I really must stop looking like a college student on a budget. Looking forward to the next installment! I'm looking for guidance and emotional support.
Would really relish a pic of you in the blue leather jacket, ill-fitting as it may be (I hope!). Louise (below) sent one of her fashion nightmares, and it will be featured in the next Lorinda.
Alas, poor Lorinda, I sympathize. I, too, have things in my closet that just MIGHT work with jeans in a cool way. There they sit. I can’t seem to part with a Ralph Loren-looking blouse with a lace trimmed collar that I had a tailor make for me in 1987 in Singapore. I kid you not. It actually does look kinda sharp with my new wide-legged jeans but I forget it’s there in the back of my closet. Sigh don’t get me started on shoes. I found a pair at Sole Desire in 2005 and I am still dragging them out for a zip to the post office. Of course they don’t make them anymore. They were called “Tribute”. I bought them in multiple colors but wouldn’t you know the sizes aren’t quite right. A couple fall off my heel when I walk and my baby toe made its way out of the side of two others.
We won’t begin to discuss how many things I’ve ruined in the wash.
Truthfully my favorite sweater is pilled Nautica, black with a neckline that hides my neck quite well. I found it on the men’s table at Costco fifteen years ago.
So there you have it. Take heart. Just have fun expressing your uniqueness. That’s what I do. Jesse will love you for it.
So many good zingers here! Hahaha fucking scorpions!
