Yeah, which side to take on this Big Beautiful Bill and the government shutdown? A question for all of us. Dems and Republicans alike.
What do we really want our senators to do? Cave in to an insane and inhumane leader? A person who thinks only of himself? Where the fuck are all those caring Christians that supposedly make up the majority of this nation? Hello! Any of you out there? Do any of you really give a shit? If so, get on it and TODAY.
If the BBB passes, in the capacity that can’t-say-his-fucking-name expects, and that his ass-kissing GOP senators will happily rubber-stamp, it will be one massive LONG-TERM LOSS for our entire country — a country of Republicans and Democrats alike — not a Country for Old Men, large corporations, and rich people — they do not own the rest of us — I’m talking about the other 81% of humans who live and work here. We own them, because if we don’t buy their shit, they don’t exist. Believe it.
If you happen to be in that lofty 19% of the population, move right on to another blog post. Your karma will rain down soon enough, and frankly, I’m not one iota interested in your thoughts (or should I say, thoughtlessness) on any of this.
WHY YOU SHOULD CARE
There's no time for a comprehensive breakdown on this massive bill, and if you've not already read it, it's unlikely you'll have time to get up-to-speed today. So, here's the long and short of it: • Young people are the biggest losers (babies through 30-year-olds). • Trillions in corporate tax breaks will result in an unprecented national debt. • The oppressive interest from this debt will fall to young people. • The lack of incoming tax revenue will severely affect education, science, affordable housing, national infrastructure, healthcare and nearly every federal program that has improved quality of living for the people of the U.S., including those 19% on the top. • There will be $1 trillion less allocated to Medicaid, which provides healthcare to 70-80 million Americans — your neighbors, friends, relatives and the people who provide essential services to you and your family. Contrary to popular GOP propaganda, Medicaid is not just doled out to lazy losers. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS BULLSHIT. • Those hardest hit by the Medicaid cuts are the low-income and disabled and those living in rural areas, including the people who fucking put food on your table. YES, those folks. This will affect YOU. Supposedly $25 billion is being set aside to prop up the rural hospitals that will be hugely affected buy these cuts, but here's the rub... though many rural hospitals will stay open, the 16+ million rural folks on Medicaid, who might use those hospitals, will not have the insurance to do so. So, that is fucked — hospitals are right there, but you can't use them. That's pretty cruel. • There will be a loss of jobs for over half a million people in healthcare professions as a result of the Medicaid cuts. • 40% of CHILDREN in rural areas (the number currently on Medicaid) will lose their healthcare coverage. • $300 billion is being cut from the SNAP program. 13.4 million kids in the U.S. are grappling with food insecurity and these cuts and others will hugely affect them. How's that sitting with all of you Christians? Hopefully not well. I hope you are feeling really sick to your stomaches.
So there you have it, just a tiny sliver of what this Big Beautiful Bill will do to decent, hardworking folks in the middle, lower middle, and lower classes — which, can you believe it (!), is comprised of both Republicans and Democrats. So stuff your fucking MAGA hats up your ass and turn off your liberal, elitist bullshit and start emailing and texting. There is no time left for childish bickering and meaningless memes. Nothing is being accomplished by any of that. Our current situation is proof-positive that none of that works.
In case you are so fucking out to lunch you don’t know what types of people reside in the aforementioned classes, here you go…
THOSE WHO STAND TO LOSE
Mechanics, skilled healthcare workers, people in clerical positions, fast food employees and managers, plumbers, electricians, people in retail sales, waiters, cooks, chefs, the self-employed, nursing home workers, HVAC technicians, community rehab specialists, fiancial clerks, bank tellers, bartenders, drivers of trucks, commercial pilots, basic tech positions everywhere, insurance agents, entry-level engineers, bookkeepers, teachers, professors, garbage truck drivers, janitors, sanitation engineers, water treatment plant operators, babysitters, childcare providers, grocery store clerks and managers, farm workers and managers, food processing, writers, everyone in the film and television industry minus movie stars and news anchors, construction workers, utility workers, road workers, therapists, railroad workers, barbers and hair stylists, aestheticians, roofers, cell tower technicians, ambulance drivers, EMTs, claims adjusters, dental hygenists, factory workers, fishermen, musicians, artists, personal trainers, yoga instructors, etc., etc.
I’ll try to make this easy for you. This email needs to go to every Democratic senator…
EMAIL/TEXT/CALL YOUR SENATORS
Senator XXX:
DO NOT vote "yes" on the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, as your constituents are against the massive tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations, which will erode an important tax base and ratchet up the national debt by trillions.
The BBB will also hurt untold millions of Americans directly and indirectly with its cuts to social safety net programs. These cuts are inhumane. 10.3 to 10.5 million people stand to lose Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program benefits. $300 billion cut from SNAP? We cannot let this happen.
We also feel the rollback of clean energy initiatives is regressive and goes against all science and will, in short order, result in a reduced quality of life for humans and all living things, in addition to permanently damaging a growing sector of the economy.
Increased spending on immigration enforcement is poorly conceived and in support of initiatives that hurt the United States’ labor force in agriculture, construction, food processing, etc. There is currently no alternative to these much-needed workers. In addition, the conditions of detention are substandard, and issues of due process unresolved. No additional funds should be allocated to these efforts until a comprehensive bipartisan plan is strategized and laid out.
The longest-lasting implication of this bill will be the massive increase in the national debt. The BBB will raise the national debt ceiling by $5 trillion, which will, in turn, affect many generations of Americans.
In spite of the short-term shutdown of the government, we cannot support this bill.
Please vote "no." Consider our future and the November elections, and do the right thing.
Sincerely,
XXX

P.S. What happens if there is a shutdown? The Treasury cannot pay out any money, and the government will stop all non-essential functions. Non-essential staff will be furloughed, while essential staff will be required to work without pay. The only (pardon-my-French) assholes who will continue to get paid are officials involved with the Constitution (yep, the Supremes), the President and his staff, and Congress. The non-assholes who will get paid and continue their duties will be the military, federal law enforcement, and federal hospitals. Something to weigh.
Thank you
