What is more endearing than Mother Nature's creation of a loving Mom, her newborn, and her children.
There is nothing that compares to that image and reality of beauty.
How insidious of Nazis to use these images to perversely condition a vulnerable, poor, unemployed, bankrupt populace to follow the way of the "Movement" (die Bewegung) to ultimate genocide, mass murder of innocents, including these mothers and their little children.
This is a topic, the Nazi propaganda and ideology alone, that could occupy hours in the genius of propaganda and beautiful images to pervert a wholesome, industrious population into an infrastructure of the sickest mass murder.
This is a topic for hours, even a semester, or even a graduate degree, even a doctorate.
You accomplish a lot in a brief column, and your selection of pictures is excellent.
The racism and misogyny just never stops. As a 1960s feminist hippie, I have not a lot left to give. I contact my elected officials to get them to do what they can, but I wish I could still hit the streets.
I am going to pick at one of your points, so please bear with me.
Old women do have skin in the game. So do old men. You used an ageist argument to say we don't. Even if I didn't have children and grandchildren, I would never abandon 50 percent of the population for any reason. It's just plain wrong to turn away from the fight for women's rights and all civil rights because I am old.
I watched my aunt have ten children. I cannot remember her having a sense of humor, an opinion, a favorite song, color, food, or dress. She was this mute entity whose sole purpose was to birth and nourish. Now in her 80s, she’s finally doing a bit of travel— between Mormon temples in Orlando Florida and the Salt Lake City. One of her daughters (my cousin), also had ten children. They are all maga.
Thanks for sharing this. I grew up in a Catholic neighborhood, and there were many families with over 10 kids. It was never a good situation, especially for the mother (and the older children who had to take over much of the parenting). Very sad to see women being repressed in this way. I thought (foolishly) we had moved on to better days.
Holy toots indeed! Very well written, Chris. I like to hope for the best and prepare for the worst and the worst is already here. Ready for battle. Tits up!
I've been singing this song since I was 9, in 1962, when there was a threat of a road going through my neighborhood, which had a cattail swamp, a woodland, a meadow, lots of toads and frogs, and a few snakes, butterflies, and birds. Why, I asked my father, would they do such a thing? "The population keeps growing," he responded. I got the picture immediately. It's good to hear others singing along!
Right on. Excellent peace. Fascism and pronatalism have always gone hand in hand.
Thanks friend.
Chris Andrews: Very, very good on all counts.

I will see myself out.
Point well taken Hannah. Thank you for that.

Creepy. I had never heard of this movement before.
I concur with your 'right on'. In fact I'll raise it to the infamous Matthew McConaughey - Right on, Right on!
True. The “knot” is provided by the Left in its didferent iterations, who invented all those ‘isms.”
