I'm thinking you probably could have gotten another 200k out of the CRV. Maybe more. Sounds like you're in a place that doesn't have a real winter--something that's hard on cars. There are significant numbers of cars going beyond 300k and even 400k, Hondas definitely among them. Of course, you did get a good story out of your new car buying adventure.
Darn, Chris! It's a damn shame one of us doesn't live on the other side of the country! (I'm outside of Boston.) Of course, my Civic, 18 years old with 175k is showing its age, probably more due to the Boston winters than the mileage.

When my niece, Beth, was about 5, I took her into an auto dealership one day. She climbed right into the driver's seat of the NSX!
