Hi Friends! Had to share this with you… views from amazing hikes, and from my backyard. Flowers are popping up everywhere, the bees are doing their thing, and there are many babies, of every kind - from birds to deer to snakes. Mind where you tread.
SPRING
by Edna St. Vincent Millay
To what purpose, April, do you return again?
Beauty is not enough.
You can no longer quiet me with the redness
Of little leaves opening stickily.
I know what I know.
The sun is hot on my neck as I observe
The spikes of the crocus.
The smell of the earth is good.
It is apparent that there is no death.
But what does that signify?
Not only under ground are the brains of men
Eaten by maggots.
Life in itself
Is nothing,
An empty cup, a flight of uncarpeted stairs.
It is not enough that yearly, down this hill,
April
Comes like an idiot, babbling and strewing flowers.
This is a collage of spring flowers and scenery from recent hikes in the state parks in Napa County and at a local private property, as well as a few from my backyard…
Opened up the hive this week to make room for the new babies. Harvested some beautiful honey - amazing tasting! Thank you bees.
My absolutely, positively favorite time of year. All that newness and promise. Gotta love it!🎈
What is the music you’re using in the background? It’s as beautiful as your videos.
