Bumble was the one where they ran out of women, and started sending me profiles of men, despite my having written absolutely nothing to suggest I might be interested in same sex. I eventually had to get my credit card company to claw back the money I'd spent on Bumble.
eHarmony sent me a lot of women who were around an hour's drive for me, none of whom I clicked with.
And with eHarmony if I remember correctly, I could only communicate with women whose profiles eH sent me--I couldn't go searching for profiles that I liked.
A lot of the apps these days greatly restrict the number of words you can write, resulting in my having to spend a lot of time editing what I wanted to say down to something that would fit the allotted space.
I feel your pain. David - you seem like the kind of guy who could find the right gal on Substack. I'm sorry there weren't better options to give you. The dating apps SUCK.
Thanks Chris. And, yes, numerous matches could probably be made on substack, particularly if it were easy to program in distances, so that it would be easy to find people nearby. And, yeah, the dating apps do suck, at least the ones I've used. Somehow this stuff worked better 20 years ago and even a decade ago, unless my memory is deceiving me.
David - a thought... if I ran into you at the grocery store wearing a Kamala Harris t-shirt this week, I would throw you in the cart and take you home. Advertise. Gorilla marketing.
Can I get one already? (You'd have to take my border collie with me. But everyone loves her.)
I was going to make a HARRIS bumper sticker for the car--just print it out in big letters and scotch tape it on--something I've done in the past. But someone can't exactly throw me and my car into their car... But they might put a mash note on my car.
Great info! I've fallen into the Plenty of Fish trap and it's pretty much all scammers and fake profiles. UGH!!!
Frustrating this online dating schtick. So much time wasted on scrolling instead of conversing, etc.
I am a Bacharach fan and I am not a senior.
Cool, both the not being a senior and liking Bacharach.

Do it. I guarantee you will find a great woman if you put it out there. This is a moment for women - celebrate it with them. Thank you Chris!
The feeling is mutual 😘
